Health and Safety

Health & safety

What to know before your first class.

  • No drinks or food on the dance floor - we take breaks between dances so everyone can grab a drink.
  • Suitable footwear must be worn - no heels or shoes with an open back.
  • If you need to leave the floor during a dance, go around the edge rather than across other dancers.
  • Bring a fan and keep yourself cool - take a break whenever you need one, you don't have to dance every dance.
  • Wear layers - rooms warm up fast once everyone gets moving.
  • If something doesn't feel right, let your instructor know as soon as possible during the class.

FAQs

Got questions? Start here.

What do I need to wear?

You don't have to wear cowboy boots, but you will need comfortable, supportive footwear - ideally something with a slide on the sole. Trainer bands are sold at classes if needed. No heels or flip flops.

What do I need to bring?

All venues have a bar, but it's encouraged that you bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. A hand-held fan is great to bring too, to help you keep cool.

Do I need to disclose any health conditions?

Yes - please let your instructor know, either by emailing outlawstompers@gmail.com or directly before class starts.

Do I need prior dance experience?

No experience needed. In Absolute Beginner classes, every dance is taught step by step. Once you're confident with the basics you can move up to Beginner - though you're welcome to try any class and see how you get on (check the class schedule for levels).

Can I pay in advance?

Yes - you can pay via the booking website, or in cash or card in person at class.

Can Outlaw Stompers be hired for events and parties?

Yes - please email outlawstompers@gmail.com or send a direct message for more details.

Can I buy an Outlaw Stompers T-shirt?

Yes - ask in class or message via email or social media to order. Please note orders run monthly, so items can take up to 4 weeks to arrive.
