What's the difference between each level?
Absolute Beginner
Perfect for those that have no prior experience. Each dance is walked through, each step and pattern broken down step by step and each wall is practiced before putting the dance to music.
Only attend if you have been coming to classes for less than 3 months
Beginner
Dances are walked through at a quicker pace. Knowledge of basic steps and patterns are assumed which have been taught in the absolute beginner classes, so some patterns may not be broken down step by step. You should feel confident with the below:
grapevine, coaster step, shuffle, K step, V step, jazz box, rock, weave, step lock steps
New dance taught every 2 weeks.
High Beginner
Dances are not always walked through. Confident with combined patterns and correctional changes such as 1/2 turns and 1/4 turns. Comfortable with more challenging dances and dances with 48 counts and comfortable with tags.
You'll be introduced to more complex patterns as below:
sailor steps, monterey turns, cross shuffles, wizard steps, mambo steps
New dance taught every 2 weeks
Improver
You'll be introduced to different dances with a higher tempo and more syncopated steps. You should feel confident with the more complex patterns taught in the high beginner class.
Routines that have been danced in class for a while are not always walked through before putting to music.
There may also be some intermediate teaches mixed in.
New dance taught every 2 weeks
Intermediate
Dances higher than 32 counts and more will be introduced, more styling options and more complex turns/walls. One you feel comfortable with improver dances you can challenge yourself to give a more advanced dance a go.
